Self-Connect is where you book separate tickets with more than one airline. While this approach may give you greater flexibility and possibly work out cheaper it has disadvantages.

If you are travelling with two different airlines booked on separate tickets, we advise you to leave sufficient connection time and factor in flight delays, long queues for immigration, security and check-In.

If you have purchased two separate tickets Proflight Zambia has no liability for any expense or inconvenience caused in the event of misconnection caused by the delay or cancellation of your connecting flight, regardless of the reason. Also, the other airline involved in a self-connect itinerary will not accept any responsibility for missed connections.

Proflight Zambia is only responsible transporting you for the journey specified on the Proflight Zambia ticket, for example Mfuwe to Lusaka. Once you’ve arrived at your ticketed destination (in this example, Lusaka) the contract between yourself and Proflight Zambia is complete.

CONNECTING IN JO’BURG OR TAMBO AIRPORT?

There are often long Immigration and/or security queues for both arriving and departing passengers. We recommend that you leave plenty of time between connecting flights.

MINIMUM CONNECTING TIMES: SOUTH AFRICAN AIRPORTS

The following are recommended Minimum Connecting Times in Jo’burg OR Tambo and Cape Town. If you are travelling on two separate tickets it is your responsibility to comply with check-in and boarding deadlines.

• 2 hrs connecting time between a Proflight Zambia international flight arrival and another airline domestic flight departure
• 1 hr 35 mins connecting time between another airline domestic flight arrival and a Proflight Zambia international flight departure
• 1 hr 30 mins connecting time between another airline international flight to/from a Proflight Zambia international flight

MINIMUM CONNECTING TIMES : LUSAKA 

From a Proflight Zambia flight to another Proflight Zambia flight 

• 25 mins connecting time between Proflight Zambia domestic flight and Proflight Zambia domestic flight
• 45 mins connecting time between Proflight Zambia domestic flight and Proflight Zambia international flight
• 45 mins connecting time between Proflight Zambia international flight and Proflight Zambia international flight
• 55 mins connecting time between Proflight Zambia international flight and Proflight Zambia domestic flight (Note: P0051 Cape Town to P0308 Ndola is exceptionally permitted.)

From a Proflight Zambia flight to another airline

• 1 hr connecting time between another airline domestic scheduled or charter flight arrival and a Proflight Zambia domestic flight departure
• 1 hr 20 mins connecting time between a Proflight Zambia domestic flight arrival and another airline international flight departure
• 1 hr 20 mins connecting time between another airline international flight arrival and a Proflight Zambia domestic flight departure
• 55 mins connecting time between another airline international flight arrival/departure and a Proflight Zambia international flight departure/arrival

PROFLIGHT TO PROFLIGHT CONNECTIONS

If you are travelling on Proflight Zambia and you are connecting between two Proflight Zambia flights booked on two separate tickets, it is important that the flight details of the connecting flight are recorded in your booking. This can be done by your travel agent or through Proflight Zambia’s reservations department, reservations@proflight-zambia.com.

Furthermore you must advise the check-in agent at the first check-in point (origin of your journey) that you have a connection and state your final destination.  This will enable your onward boarding pass and baggage tags to be issued.
