PROFLIGHT THUNDERS WITH MUSIC FESTIVAL FLYERS

Proflight Zambia – the official airline sponsor for the Mosi Day of Thunder music festival – flew fans with high spirits to Livingstone at the weekend.

The airline partnered with Zambian Breweries to promote the nation’s hottest music festival, which drew more than 10,000 people to the nation’s tourism capital and home to the mighty Mosi-o-Tunya (Victoria) Falls.

“As Zambia’s leading promoter of travel and tourism, Proflight thundered together with Zambian Breweries to make sure this year’s Mosi Day of Thunder flew even higher,” said Proflight Sales and Marketing Manager Barbara  Namwila.

“We are delighted that Zambian Breweries asked us to join-in the drumming of the thunderous Zambian beat. We believe as industry partners promoting tourism, we made the festival very bigger and better.”

She added: “And the festival has given an opportunity to many corporate entities and small businesses to sell Zambia not only locally but internationally as well.”

Proflight’s 50-seater CRJ jet aircraft was dedicated to the event, branded in the colours of the festival and designated as the official ‘Thunder Plane’ that whisked lucky Mosi Day of Thunder competition winners to the venue in speed and comfort.

And that was in addition to the airline’s three-times-a-day flights from Lusaka to Livingstone, which festival goers could book at a special Day of Thunder discounted rate over the festival weekend.

The Mosi Day of Thunder fell over the long Easter weekend, and it was a perfect excuse to head to Livingstone, enjoy some of the nation’s leading musical and cultural talent, and see Victoria Falls at its most thunderous.

And Zambian Breweries Country Director Mr Jose Moran said: “This year we brought something new and fresh to the Day of Thunder and partnering with Proflight Zambia gave us the capacity not only to make it bigger but even more thunderous.”

“Last year was big, with more than 10,000 people coming to the event. Not only locals but we had people come through from other countries as well. Each year the festival continues to grow as we come together as partners in making the festival better,” he added.

The Mosi Day of Thunder took place in Livingstone on April 20, 2019 with Afro-Pop superstar Yemi Alade performing alongside Zambia’s mega-stars Slapdee, Mampi, Jay Rox, Cleo Ice Queen, Chef, Empire 408, K-Leb.
