The Sharks rugby team academy has been one of the most successful sides competing in Super Rugby since its inception in 1996. The Sharks have over the past two decades evolved from a provincial rugby side into a commercially recognised sporting brand of international acclaim, promoting an intrinsic lifestyle value as well as fashion, entertainment and sporting aspiration.
“We are excited to be sponsoring the Sharks rugby academy side that will be here for the exciting rugby sevens tournament, said Proflight director of government and industry affairs, Captain Philip Lemba, said.
Rugby is a growing sport in Zambia and Proflight’s support not only makes it key to developing the game, but also to helping the country become a dominant nation on the field.
“It will be a thrill to see our Zambia sevens team play the Sharks. This is another step in supporting the sport through international competitions with world class teams,” said capt. Lemba.
The Sharks are recognised all over the world and the team consistently plays an entertaining and exciting brand of rugby that appeals to a broad spectrum of enthusiasts across a demographic, age and sex spectrum.
With the focus on the family, the Sharks provide rugby fans with wholesome entertainment in a safe, family-orientated environment.
The Sharks will be among the teams competing in the Zambia International Sevens tournament, which has been received well by African teams and is gaining world-class recognition through its efforts in involving top class rugby sports teams.
