Solwezi travellers now have a new convenient link to South Africa thanks to the launch of Proflight Zambia’s service to Johannesburg.
The airline has timed its new direct flights from Ndola’s Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to ensure seamless connections with its service between Solwezi and Ndola.
Travellers can depart from Solwezi at 06:30hrs on Wednesdays and Fridays and be in Johannesburg in four hours, at 10:35hrs. The four-hour return journey departs from Johannesburg at 11:40hrs, getting passengers back to Solwezi at 15:40hrs.
Proflight’s direct three-times-a-week service between Ndola and Johannesburg aligns with government’s drive to link Zambia with the region, and provides a local airline choice with the shortest journey time, without multiple airline ticketing.
The Solwezi-Ndola-Johannesburg route is set to boost trade and investment between Zambia’s mining hubs of Solwezi and Ndola. with South Africa’s main business centre of Johannesburg, as well as linking travellers through Proflight’s interline connections to Cape Town and the rest of the world.

Proflight’s flight P00931 departs from Solwezi at 06:30hrs to Ndola and connects to Johannesburg, the city with the busiest airport in Africa, on flight P0040 which departs from Ndola Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport at 08:05hrs and arrives at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport at 10:35hrs. The return flight will depart from Johannesburg at 11:40hrs and arrive back in Ndola at 14:10hrs and connects to Solwezi to arrive at 15:40hrs.
The Solwezi-Ndola-Joburg connection links the cities using Proflight’s diverse fleet, which includes its 50-seat CRJ jet aircraft, making it an efficient and reliable choice for business, leisure, friends and families to travel.
