Zambia’s leading airline, Proflight, has responded to the rise in customer demand for air travel by increasing its flight frequency on its Lusaka-Johannesburg route to daily.
After months of steep declines owing to travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline’s increase of flight frequency on its local and international routes is a sign that the industry may be headed for a recovery soon.
The daily flights between the two cities will also include extra flights on evenings of Friday 18December and Sunday 3 January.
“The uptick in travel demand is a positive sign of recovery, after what has been and still is a challenging time for our industry,” said Proflight Corporate Director Mr Chitalu Kabalika.
While signs of recovery abound, Mr Kabalika said the airline is still not relenting on its COVID-19 prevention measures, and that the safety of staff and passengers remains of paramount importance.
