Proflight flights Tracy’s dream to return to Durban ‘coastal gem’

Student and aspiring model Tracy Mwanza will have a dream come true when she returns to South Africa’s coastal resort of Durban, having won the Proflight Zambia’s hotly contested Facebook ‘selfie’ competition.

The Durban selfie competition, launched in early January, saw more than 50 participants posting photographs of themselves enjoying Durban, which between them attracted 5,193 ‘likes’.

Tracy will be on her way to the city of golden beaches courtesy of Proflight with two complimentary tickets (excluding taxes) for her and a friend to use at any time she chooses between before July 31, 2017.

“I am very happy to be the winner of the Proflight Durban selfie competition, I have been planning on travelling back to Durban since last year and this competition just came in at the right time,” said Tracy, who received her tickets at the Proflight head office in Kamloops Road this week from customer services representative Petronella Chanda.

“I thank God for enabling Proflight to offer this lovely opportunity. This is going to be my perfect journey ever as it’s going to allow me to go back and do the things I was scared to do the last time I was there, like swimming with sharks,” said Tracy, who last visited Durban in 2015 with her family, when she managed to visit the Suncoast beach, the Ushaka Marine World, Moses Mabhida stadium and the exciting beach in Amanzimtoti known as Splash World.

Tracy, who was born and raised in Ndola is currently pursuing a diploma in international relations. When it comes to her hobbies she says; “I love to travel, play tennis, have long walks and model a lot, it’s just in my genes.”

She explains her exhilarating experience the last time she stepped into Africa’s coastal gem. “Durban is always exciting because it has a lot of beaches, nice buildings and beautiful shopping malls. When we talk about shopping malls; Pavilion and Galleria are my top priority; the structures of these two malls are amazing. When I am in Durban I always feel like it’s my first time because the beauty of that city is beyond explanation and I just love how mountainous some places are in the area.”

“Not forgetting, there’s a place where we had gone for ice skating and diving with the sharks, though I didn’t dive with the sharks. But this time around am ready to dive with the sharks. Apart from that there’s a beach in town called Virginia Beach where they have a lot of exciting games for both children and adults and what I loved from the Virginia Beach was the electrical rocking boat that seats four people.”

“Durban is full of fun and shopping,” she added, “I am looking forward to traveling onboard Proflight, I urge the airline to continue with such promotions in supporting more Zambians to fly.”

Proflight launched the competition to increase and boost tourism and business linkages between Lusaka and Durban.
