Proflight Boosts Tourism at ZATEX

Proflight Zambia has joined hands with tourism industry stakeholders to promote and sponsor the 2017 Zambia Tourism Expo ZATEX with the theme ‘responsible tourism; a sustainable choice for development.’ The airline is devoted to providing safe, efficient, reliable and friendly flight services to tourism and business travellers travelling across the country and beyond. Proflight as thus a significant stakeholder in the tourism sector and plays a critical role in creating a platform for domestic and international tourism by linking travellers throughout its network. “We champion tourism growth in Zambia and our presence as Proflight at this year’s Tourism Expo confirms that. We are happy to be involved in such initiatives that will help create a common networking platform for industry players in the region as well as the global tourism industry,” said Proflight Zambia’s director of government and industry affairs Captain Philip Lemba. Proflight has joined other tourism sector players in setting up its stand at this year’s travel expo being held at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka. “Proflight believes growth in domestic and regional tourism begins with connecting stakeholders, businesses and tourism travellers through air transport, which is the best and fastest means of travelling,” said Capt. Lemba. He adds: “Proflight is essential in providing air transport services that will enable tourists to access and reach the sites on time in a convenient and comfortable way.” Proflight provides direct flights to all the top Zambian tourist spots spread around the country, and is committed to making travelling more convenient by allowing tourists greater freedom of movement and assist them in reaching their destinations. Proflight has been among the leading supporters of the travel expo since it was initiated in 2015. ZATEX is a Zambia Tourism Agency initiative aimed at bringing tourism stakeholders together. This year the Travel Expo has attracted 75 exhibitors from around the country compared to 47 in 2016, along with 43 foreign buyers and media. The travel expo this year is hosting buyers from around the globe including USA, Spain, Uganda, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa, India, Kenya, Namibia, Switzerland, Portugal, Norway and the United Kingdom. The theme ‘Responsible Tourism: A Sustainable choice for Development’ was set in line with the designation of 2017 as the International Year of sustainable tourism for development by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). Add part of ZATEX, Proflight will be flying a group of more than 50 international travel agents for operators and travel ournalists to Mfuwe Livingstone and Lower Zambezi to enable them to see the country's main tourism attractions for themselves.
